Part II
How to find your “Team.”
It’s not like we have a ton of time to devote to the idea of building a mom lineup, but here are some ideas to consider:
- Ditch Judgment – (this puts a dent in my sarcastic soul) – Sometimes we get busy comparing and making assumptions about others. We miss out on connections by allowing predetermined thoughts to dominate our decision making. Don’t let your ego keep you from adding to your line-up.
- Challenge Yourself – Do something uncomfortable, try something new, talk to new people. Take action to extend invitations to people you find interesting. If you need help with an introduction, ask a mutual friend to help you out. Trust the process.
- Be Authentic – When your vibe is genuine, you attract people you can have honest connections with. Don’t get caught in people pleasing mode where you can’t be yourself. Your ‘team’ is out there and they will appreciate your authenticity.
- Give Grace – Relax moms. Everyone is busy, committed, and tired. We can’t always show up in a way that makes everyone happy. Friendships change, take ‘time outs’ and ride the bench. Don’t take it personal.
We can take a break from wearing the t-shirt that says, “I can’t, my kid has practice.”
Don’t miss out because you have a D1 or bust mentality when it comes to finding your ‘team.’
Go out and scout your Elite Team of Moms and start building those connections. Live happier & healthier knowing your team has your back.
