Mom of three boys here (13,11,10) and they are seriously straight assholes to each other …. I’m hoping someone else out there can relate? Siblings fight and I get that but dang, I’m breaking up verbal and physical spats left and right!
Just a bit more background, they all play hockey, baseball and football. The younger two are often on the same team to help with our sanity as they are only 18 months apart.
Anyway, I often end my lectures with “just don’t play together if you can’t get along,” that literally will last 30 minutes. I look outside and they’re out running routes together, riding dirtbikes or playing catch….until someone comes in with a bloody nose. They tell eachother they smell and make fun of eachother for every little thing! Embarrassing enough to say out loud, my husband and I have threatened to have to move into separate houses because we can’t continue to let them hurt each other. They cry and promise to be nicer and the vicious cycle starts again.
Being that they are each super competitive I’m hoping that maybe this can help drive them in a positive direction. Fingers crossed and this is a phase and pray we survive. #isitmillertime
